India-Australia likely to cooperate in the field of Civil Aviation Security

New Delhi, Feb 22, 2017: The central government on Wednesday said that India and Australia will cooperation in the field of civil aviation security.

The development follows the Union Cabinet's decision on Wednesday which approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries to enhance the overall aviation security environment in India.

According to the Union Cabinet, the MoU will provide an opportunity to Indian aviation security authorities to share the expertise of their Australian counterparts.

"MoU will provide compliance of international obligation as well as enhance promotion in the area of security cooperation between the two countries," an official statement said. (IANS)
