State Government launches Development schemes for temples in Kazhakootam, Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, April 11, 2017: The state government will chalk out the high budget development schemes for various temples in Kazhakootam. Minister for devaswom and tourism Kadakampally Surendran stated that projects accounting Rs 8 crores will be implemented in three temples.

A detailed project report will be prepared for the construction of Sabarimala`edathavalam' at Kazhakootam Mahadeva temple. A resting centre for pilgrims including an auditorium measuring 7,000 sq feet a dining hall measuring 25,000 sq feet will be built at Edathavalam, mentioned TNN report.
An organic vegetable garden and solar based power generation will be launched as part of Haritha Kshetram scheme.

A modern park will be built at Kulangara temple at a cost of Rs 5 crores. This project will be launched by the department of tourism. A snack counter, amphitheatre will also be built. Development activities worth Rs 2.38 crores will be sanctioned for Kolathukara temple, the minister said in a press note.
