The police has arraigned him as an accused in the case.

A single bench of the High Court while rejecting his plea, observed that none was "above the law". It also rejected his counsel's argument that Udayabhanu "will submit himself" before the probe team.

Soon after the murder took place, the police arrested four persons. During the course of investigation, the police found out Udayabhanu's alleged role, forcing him to approach the court.

With his plea getting rejected, the police are making all efforts to arrest him at the earliest. Udayabhanu is all set to approach the Supreme Court with a new anticipatory bail plea.(IANS)
