The Hindu Council of Australia thanks Prime Minister the Hon. Anthony Albanese, MP for announcing federal government support for a Hindu school in Sydney. The Prime Minister announced this during the Holi Fuldol celebrations at BAPS Swami Narayan Mandir and cultural centre in Kemps Creek, NSW. He said, “It is important that Hindus have a school where your children can be guided by Hindu Culture. My government will support the first Hindu school. The Hindu community is an integral part of this country.”

Education Minister, the Hon. Jason Clare, MP said in a statement that “There are more than 684,000 Hindus in Australia and its about time their vision to have a school is realised.” Member for Parramatta, Andrew Charlton, issued a statement and said that “the Indian diaspora is the most employed and the most educated in Australia. It's about time they have a school of their own.”

Hindu Council also thanks Minister for Communications, the Hon. Michelle Rowland, MP Macquarie (Hawkesbury area) MP Susan Templeman, MP and Minister Andrew Giles and all other MPs and Ministers who have lent their support to the Hindu School. Hindu Council also thanks Better Balanced Future’s CEO Murray Norman and Co-chair Darren Bark for their steadfast advocacy and support.

The School is to be run by HEACC. HEACC has already purchased land for the school in the Hawkesbury area in North-West Sydney. The school will combine contemporary methods of raising young minds with timeless knowledge from Hindu Dharma, creating a safe and nurturing place where children will be cared for, guided, and taught through a holistic approach that nurtures their growth and development.
