To improve efficiency, Centre has decided to use an Aadhar Eanabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS) in all offices of the Central Government.

"There is no change in the instructions relating to office hours, late attendance etc. Biometric attendance system is only an enabling platform,"MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh said in a written reply to a question by Muthamsetti Srinivasa Rao (Avanthi) in the Lok Sabha Wednesday.

As per the available information, there is a difference between the number of registered employees and number of employees marking their attendance.

All the Ministries have been informed to pass on the necessary directions to all employees to mark their attendance in the Biometric Attendance Portal on regular basis.
