Bengaluru: Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said on Friday that the political alliance of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad is bound to fail in the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar.

Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal-United leader Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad recently joined hands ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

The combination of both leaders is not at all formidable, Paswan said during a press conference here.

The minister also said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be the ultimate winner in the upcoming Bihar elections.

Paswan added that the party will not name the chief ministerial candidate for the Bihar elections and will replicate the model executed in the elections in other states like Haryana.

Comparing the development of Bihar with Karnataka, Paswan said: "Where is Bihar when compared to a state like Karnataka? It has buildings, roads and infrastructure. None of this is in Bihar despite Nitish Kumar's 10-year reign."
