New Delhi: People in Delhi have lost faith in the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led by government due to its misrule, the Congress said on Friday.

Congress Delhi unit chief spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee said: "People have now lost faith in the AAP government due to its misrule and the various scandals it has got mired in."

Addressing a press conference here, Mukherjee said the Aam Aadmi Party, which harped on high-ethics and high morality, had become the worst example of wrong doing.

"It was very shameful that (AAP MLA) Manoj Kumar has been charged with cheating and fraud. People of Delhi who voted the AAP to power with a thumping majority of 67 MLAs, now feel betrayed and ashamed."

She said the AAP government has negated whatever goodwill it had earned from the people.

"After Jitender Tomar, who is now in jail in the fake degree case, Manoj Kumar is the second AAP MLA to be arrested for fraud," said Mukherjee, the daughter of President Pranab Mukherjee.

AAP legislator Manoj Kumar, who was elected from Kondli, was on Thursday arrested by Delhi Police on charges of cheating and forgery. The AAP described the arrest as a "political vendetta".
