President, PM congratulate ISRO for successful satellite launch

New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the successful launch of PSLV-C28, that put five British satellites into orbit.

In his message to ISRO chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar, the president said: "My heartiest congratulations to you and your entire team at the Indian Space Research Organisation for the successful launch of PSLV-C28, carrying 5 satellites."

Expressing happiness that the space agency had successfully pulled off its "heaviest commercial mission" with the Friday's launch, he said it was "an important landmark in our space program".

"Please convey my greetings to all members of your team of scientists, engineers and technologists involved in this mission. I wish all your future endeavours great success," Mukherjee added.

Modi said it was a moment of "immense pride" for India.

"Successful launch of PSLV with five UK satellites is a moment of immense pride and joy for India. Congratulations to the ISRO team," he said.
