Washington: In what can turn into a big blow to Pakistan, the US administration has refused to certify the effectiveness of the efforts of Pakistan to curb terrorism, without which Pakistan will not receive the Coalition Support Fund (CSF).

CSF is the military reimbursement that US gives to Pakistan in return for its logistical support to US and coalition forces fighting in Afghanistan. After the US reduced its military deployment in Afghanistan, the CSF was scheduled to end in 2014, but Obama administration renewed it for another year by putting additional stipulations like certification of Pakistan's counterterror activities by defense secretary etc., according to a report published in Times of India.

But US is not happy with Pakistan after it tried to keep the deaths of Taliban chief Mullah Omar and Haqqani network leader Jalaluddin Haqqania from the US. This has caused a trust deficit in the US towards Pakistan.

It is also being speculated that the US is delaying the proposed visit of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Washington. Though the visit has been mentioned in the Pakistani media, no official announcements have been made by the US administration.
