Kolkata: Yesterday, doctors were seen protesting in front of the Academy of Fine Arts against their harassment and the government's unfair decision to suspend and transfer some of their fellow colleagues. The doctors, mainly in favour of opposition party CPI (M), criticized the government regarding the ill condition of the health system in the state.

Eminent doctors of the state and other stalwarts addressed the meeting and pointed out different flaws of the State Government. Dr. Binayak Sen said that he is against the corporatization of the health system, and the government should take care of the hospitals in remote areas.

Lawyer Arunavo Ghosh said, "Kajol Majhi like doctors are the head of West Bengal Health system, even the Chief Minister refused to take the medicine prescribed by him. It shows the attitude of the government towards the health system of the state".

Dr. Arun Singh said that the state medical system is at stake. The government either suspended or relocated the doctor in remote areas, who were not following the government principles. Bharti Muksuddi, former chairman of the Women Rights Commission said that the government is concerned about the health of dogs and forgetting the people after it suspended a doctor who refused to do dialysis of a dog. It is a mockery of the entire health system of the state with hundreds of people dying because of improper medical facilities.

Former Mayor Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, Former state assembly speaker Hasim Abdool Halim, theatre person Chandan Sen and Papiya Adhikary, and other dissenters lambasted the ignorant attitude of the government towards the doctors.
