Daughter of former army chief and union minister Gen (retd) VK Singh, Mrinalini Katoch has voiced the demand for implementation of one rank one pension (OROP) scheme. On Sunday, she joined the protest terming it an acute need of the veteran army officials. At Jantar Mantar, she said, "The demand is pending from a long time and needs to be full filled at its earliest." Mrinalini's support to the protest is a blow to BJP which is already under fire for not implementing OROP.

Also a wife of a serving army official, Katoch said, "Retired army officials are fighting for their rights from the past 2 months and I am here to support them." On being asked about whether she consulted her father VK Singh before taking this step she told, "I don't need his permission for doing the right thing, even I want him to come and support us."
