Israeli arrested from Panaji airport carrying live ammunitions

Panaji: A 32-year-old Israeli national, Biton Eliyan, was arrested on Saturday at the Dabolim International Airport for possession of six live cartridges.

An FIR was registered after the cartridges were found in his baggage during an X-ray scan around 2:45 pm, a police spokesperson said.

After a preliminary inquiry, he was arrested late on Saturday. He was on his way to Delhi from Goa.

"He has been arrested under relevant sections of the Arms Act," said a police official from the Vasco police station.
