Barkha Singh appointed Delhi Mahila Congress chief

New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday appointed former Delhi Commission of Women chief Barkha Shukla Singh as president of the Mahila Congress in the national capital.

The party also appointed a new team of office bearers to the women's wing.

A Congress release said party vice president Rahul Gandhi approved the team of new office bearers and appointment of four presidents of the Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee.

Apart from Barkha Singh's appointment in Delhi, the party appointed Susila Negi as chief of Mahila Congress in Himachal Pradesh, Charulata Tokas in Maharashtra and Subrata Datta in West Bengal.

The new office bearers include 11 general secretaries and nine secretaries.
