Jammu: Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers held a meeting on the international border in Samba district of Jammu region to maintain ceasefire, an official said on Monday.

"A casual contact meeting was held on Sunday at the Octroi Post Outpost in RS Pura sector on the international border between the field commanders of BSF and Pakistan Rangers," a senior BSF officer told in Jammu.

"Issues related to maintenance of ceasefire by the two sides were discussed by our five-member team with a four-member team of Pakistan rangers. Both sides are committed to uphold ceasefire on the border," the officer added.

It must be recalled that both sides held a flag meeting on the international border in the same sector on November 3.

Farmers on both sides are presently busy harvesting the Kharif crop and the Rabi sowing season is about to start.
