New Delhi: Lambasting Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for trying to create instability in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed on Monday alleged he was encouraging the separatists in the valley by writing to Asiya Andrabi and appreciating her endeavour in raking up the Kashmir issue.

Terming the move as a shameful step, Shakeel Ahmed said, it has been decided in the Shimla Agreement that any issues between both countries would be resolved bilaterally and encouraging separatists of our nation by a foreign prime minister is not appropriate.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, besides lauding separatist leader Asiya Andrabi, assured her that Pakistan will continue raising this issue on all 'international' forum.

Moreover, Pakistan pledged to continue its moral and political support to the people of Kashmir in "their struggle for the right of self-determination that has been acknowledged by the United Nations."

Nawaz Sharif also accused India of doing a volte-face on its promise to the international community that Kashmir would be given the right to choose its political future.
