New Delhi: Union Minister Mahesh Sharma said that the current NDA led government at the center is committed to building the Ram temple at Ayodhya. However, the government will wait for the Supreme Court's verdict or arrive at a mutual understanding on building the shrine, he added.

He further said that government will fulfill the dream of million Indians by constructing the Ram temple.

The minister added that BJP is committed to doing that and even the people want it, the only problem is that the case is pending in the court.

Mahesh Sharma further said that the senior leaders of BJP will take a decision on the issue and he is not authorized to speak to media on the issue.

He said that a grand museum is also coming up at Ayodhya. The center has released a 170 crore fund for Ram Van Gaman Path Project which will uphold the ideals of Lord Rama.

On December 6th, 1992, Babri Mosque in Ayodhya was demolished by Hindu groups and since then a demand of construction of Ram temple is going on.

BJP as opposition always made it as a political agenda to build the Ram temple and this is the first time when they have the clear majority in the center.

Other Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that it is not a political matter and the steps cannot be taken without the orders of the court.

This comment is sure to spark the controversy. The ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh is calling it a political agenda as the assembly elections are getting closer.
