At least 18 militants were killed and 17 others injured when security forces raided Taliban positions in Afghanistan's Dasht-e-Archi district, an official said on Thursday.

According to the official, the security forces backed by aircrafts attacked Taliban hideouts on Wednesday, Xinhua news agency reported.
