November 10, 2016: How to convert black money into white money was trending on Google soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi banned the notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 on Tuesday night.

Seems like the black money holders in India turned to the search engine for help when almost the rest of the country was applauding the stern step.

About the move, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said,"If the money is legitimate, which had been previously withdrawn from banks or earned legally and saved and had been disclosed, there is nothing to worry about"

He also warned, "People who have not disclosed their wealth will be strictly penalised."

According to the Google Trends, most of the searches on Google to know how to convert black money into white money were from Haryana, Modi's own state Gujarat is just closely behind it. Other states are having the same query include Maharastra, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.
