Mizoram soon to be Declared as Open Defecation Free State, says CM Lal Thanhawla

Aizawl ,December 3, 2016: Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lal Thanhawla on Saturday said, Mizoram would soon be declared as open defecation free state.

Since 1980s, the government is running the campaign for cleanliness by initiating Clean Aizawl and Clean Mizoram.

According to PTI, the officials said, "The North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) and the central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) under the Swacch Bharat Mission (Gramin) in his presence in Aizawl last night."

Tata Trust's NEIDA and YMA signed the MoU, under which the YMA will be undertaking the mass awareness programmes all across the state. The NEIDA will be providing financial and other logistics supports.
