Delhi Poetry Festival (DPF) by Poets Corner is all set to begin here from December 16

New Delhi, December 15, 2016: The fourth season of Delhi Poetry Festival (DPF), organised by Poets Corner, is all set to begin here from December 16.

Held at the NCUI Auditorium and Convention Centre here, the event will be attended by many illustrious and eminent speakers, including William Dalrymple, Annu Kapoor, Sanjna Kapoor, Vidya Shah, Waseem Barelvi, Manglesh Dabral, Anamika, Vinita Nangia, Malini Awasthi, Jeet Thayil, Kuldip Singh, Atul Tiwari, Arundhathi Subramaniam, Keki Daruwalla, Sukrita Paul Kumar, Danish Iqbal, Hirawal Group, Madan Gopal Singh, Harpreet Singh and Joy Sengupta.

There are going to be interactive sessions with the speakers and panel discussions like 'Main Na Sone Di' where role of poetry and art in challenging the stereotypical mind-sets will be discussed while 'Poetry on Love and Relationships' will explore different shades of love through verses.

Apart from these, there is also going to be Mushaira, a play on the famous poet Nazeer Akbarabadi — performed by Atul Tiwari and Kuldeep Singh — and a satirical play titled Muktibodh Ki Aulaad — presented by a youth theatre group. Folk singer Malini Awasthi, popular for her rendition of wedding songs, will be singing some of her most popular 'vivah geets'.

"It is our effort to bring new forms around poetry every year at DPF. This year, there are more poetry based performances to draw people to poetry. Delhi Poetry Festival promises to become the landmark festival of Delhi," Dolly Singh, founder of Delhi Poetry Festival, said in a statement. (IANS)
