Thiruvananthapuram, May 5, 2017: India boasts of all the factors necessary to emerge as the leader in animation for the media, education and entertainment industry, said a well known animation expert here on Friday.

While inaugurating the "Toonz Animation Masters Summit 2017", Fred Wang Cheung Yue, Honorary Vice President of the China Film Foundation, said India had huge creative talent, distribution network and a vast consumer network for marketing animations.

Cheung Yue, who also holds the position of Director of the Board of Hong Kong-France Business Partnership and Chairman of Salon Films Group, said: "The world is now looking at the East… India brought Buddhism to the world…"

"India has immense creative and talented people at its disposal. It holds leadership position in software sector, which is a great advantage.

"I think the animation industry here needs to focus on creating quality content targeting children from the age of 2 to 7 years in English and local languages, as animation provides the necessary ingredients for all-round growth of the children," said Cheung Yue.

The two-day event is being attended by Lauren Glaubach, Head of Programming, YouTube Family and Learning; Amy Blair, Programming Manager, YouTube Kids USA; and Keyur Patel, Chairman & Founder, Fuse Global, among others, who all appreciated the work that Toonz has been doing.
