New Delhi, November 2, 2017 10:22 IST: Two of the injured in the NTPC boiler blast in Uttar Pradesh has been shifted to the Safdarjung hospital here. Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel has visited them.

A green corridor was created to bring the patients to the national capital, considering the seriousness of their condition.

Seven more injured in the Tuesday's blast were also to be shifted to the city's AIIMS hospital, besides the Safdarjung's 's trauma centre, said an official.

Patel visited Safdarjung hospital late on Thursday "to oversee and ensure that patients from the blast got the best medical care and treatment", said the official from the Union Health Ministry.

She has suggested that facilities and doctors from the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital could also be used, if necessary.

The death toll in the blast in National Thermal Power Corporation's 500MW unit in Rae Bareli rose to 30 on Thursday. The government has ordered a magisterial probe into the tragedy.

The massive explosion took place in state-owned power plant's Unchahar town unit on the Lucknow-Allahabad Highway on Tuesday. Many were trapped when the boiler burst and a huge ball of dust rose, making the rescue operations difficult.(IANS)
