Kaalakaandi Movie Review

NewsGram Desk
  • The merge of three stories form the crux of the story.
  • Characters were one-dimensional and did not develop with the plot.
  • Saif Ali Khan's performance was remarkable.

Kaalakaandi, a Saif Ali Khan starrer, is the directional debut of Delhi-Belly's writer Akshat Verma. The movie is set in Mumbai revolving around people who do things which are right and wrong, following which they wonder if what they did was right.

This is not the movie you should watch if you are looking for quirky-laughter moments. The film aims at showcasing the 'dark side' of people.

However, the characters are totally one-dimensional and face no development as the story moves forward. Even though Saif's performance has been remarkable, the screenplay is said to have been 'half-baked'.

It is dark humour and particularly, a thriller. The films had three independent stories in the frame, which form the crux when they merge.
