Bharatiya Liberal Party President, Dr. Munish Kumar Raizada, has demanded an open police inquiry against Delhi High Court Judge Justice Yashwant Varma for stocking cash in his home. Dr. Raizada raised questions on the supreme court Collegium’s suggestion to do in-house inquiry in the matter. Dr. Raizada said that this case should be treated just like other corruption cases and a police enquiry should follow. “Why should judges be spared from open police enquiry when common people go through the same process? Dr. Raizada questioned.

BLP President also mentioned India's ranking on Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) and said India is placed at 96th position out of 180 countries in 2024 which shows how rampant the corruption is in India. “Corruption is a major hindrance to India’s success. For India to even think about becoming Vishwaguru (Global Power), we have to first set our house in order and bring in several political and electoral reforms. These reforms are important so that we can achieve a democracy that is accessible to everyone and common people can participate in it.”, said Dr. Raizada. He emphasized that India not only needs “Satta Parivartan" (change of governments), it needs a “Vyawastha Parivartan (complete overhaul of a system)”.

According to Dr. Raizada said to avoid such corruption incidents from happening, the axis of responsibility, accountability and culpability need to be strengthened. He said that by transferring Justice Varma to Allahabad HC, he’s been freed from the axis of culpability.
