Immunologist Can Discuss Causes, Treatments for Spring Allergies

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 4 American adults suffers from seasonal allergies. About 19% of children are also affected.

Immunologist: Mark Kaplan, PhD, is available to discuss the causes of and treatments for spring allergies.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 4 American adults suffers from seasonal allergies. About 19% of children are also affected.

Kaplan is chair of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Indiana University School of Medicine and has studied the effects of allergies for more than 20 years. His research interests include how T-cells contribute to allergic inflammation.

He was recently named a fellow of the prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) for distinguished contributions in the field of immunology, cytokine biology and insights into allergic disease. Newswise/SP
