Budget session: NDA government to push Land Bill in Lok Sabha

Parliamentary session in Lok Sabha today will see the NDA government pushing the controversial Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment) Bill, along with general discussion and voting on Railway Budget and General Budget for 2015-16. Eight hours have been kept exclusive for the LARR (Amendment) Bill in Lok Sabha.

In Rajya Sabha, two bills to replace ordinances will be taken up. The Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2015 and Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2015, passed by Lok Sabha, have been listed for consideration and passing on Monday, March 9, 2015.

In this session of Parliament the Lok Sabha has already passed five Bills seeking to replace five respective ordinance. The Bills include, the Amending the Citizenship Act, introduction of e-rikshaws, allocation of coal mines through open bidding, hiking FDI in insurance sector and allocation of non-coal mineral resources through auction.

Rajya Sabha has passed three Bills including the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill replacing the related Ordinance, The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2014 and The Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Persons) Amendment Bill, 2014, earlier passed by the Lok Sabha.
