Government does not have the numbers to enact the Constitutional Amendment to scrap Article 370, Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Home Affiars said.

Responding to the question in Rajya Sabha about whether the Government was planning to do away with the special status of J&K, Kiren Rijiju said that the Government lacks the numbers needed to amend Article 370 in the Parliament.

'It needs a Constitutional Amendment. Even if we say, we don't have numbers in the House. So there is no point talking about this issue, because we will not rake up this issue. The party's view is already known.' said Kiren Rijiju
