Puri’s Nabakalebar Rath Yatra goes global; to be promoted as international tourism event

The Tourism Ministry in association with the Petroleum Ministry is taking steps to brand and promote Nabakalebar Rath Yatra as an international event.

To promote the event, the Ministry of Culture will bring out Coffee Table Book and also make special documentary on the Rath Yatra. Coins and stamps will also be issued to commemorate the yatra

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, said that the Tourism Ministry has sanctioned Rs. 50 crore and Central Government will also supplement budgetary support as per the requirements of the event.

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma will visit Odisha for two days 20th and 21st March to review the preparations for the event.

A large number of people are supposed to attend the event and the Government has decided to leave no stone unturned for the smooth completion of it.
