After Maharashtra, now Haryana to impose complete ban on beef

After Maharashtra, now Haryana government is set to impose a complete ban on the sale of beef.

Haryana government's agriculture and animal husbandry minister O.P. Dhankar said that the government will impose ban on the sale of beef in any form in the state. The ban will also cover the canned beef which was legalised during the tenure of Congress.

"The state government is engaged in framing a stringent law to clamp a complete ban on cow slaughter, Dhankar said.

Talking about the new law the minister said that offenders would have to face a jail term of 10 years for slaughtering the cows. "The government will name the new law as Gau Sanrakshan Avam Gau Samwardhan" law," Agriculture Minister said.
