Trinamool Congress MP and popular actor, Mithun Chakrabarty has been summoned by Enforcement Directorate (ED) again for failing to submit documents relating to the multi-crore Saradha chit-fund scam.

The actor-politician came under the scanner of the authorities last year when central probe agency found a sum of Rs 2 crore transferred to Chakrabarty's account from Saradha business channels.

During questioning last year, Mithun Chakrabarty had denied carrying out any business deal with the Sudipta Sen's duping venture which conned many in West Bengal, Odisha and Assam and promised to share all personal transaction details with the Directorate.

Sources in ED said that the MP is being summoned because he hasn't shared the details yet.

The TMC MP had reportedly given the sum for his services as the brand ambassador of a media platform floated by the Saradha group.

However, Chakrabarty's lawyer Biman Sarkar has denied getting any notice from ED. 'Neither he nor his client (the actor) had received any summons from the ED.' Sarkar told to a news agency.
