A cricketer Rahul Ghosh was hospitalized today in Kolkata following an injury suffered during fielding in a local league game between Kolkata Police and Vijay Sports in Kolkata.

The attending doctor said that, "He has an injury in the left side of the head. There was bleeding. CT scan has been done. It shows a clot. He is now stable but has to be kept under observation for seven to eight days. Before that nothing conclusive can be said."

On Monday, a young and promising cricketer, Ankit Keshri, succumbed to a head injury sustained during a Cricket Association of Bengal's Senior one-day match on April 17. The young talent had earned many feathers in his cap. He had not only captained the Bengal U-19 team in Cooch Behar Trophy, but was also in the 30-member India U-19 probables list for the 2014 Colts World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Apart from that, he was also playing for Bengal A (U-23 side) in CK Nayudu National Championship.
