Mumbai: Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan was the Guest of Honour at a function at the US consulate here on Thursday to celebrate the country's Independence Day.

The US Independence Day is celebrated annually on July 4.

The "Deewar" actor took to micro-blogging website Twitter on Thursday night and wrote: "The US Consulate invites me to celebrate Independence Day… 4th of July… but done tonight… honoured. Guest of Honour for US Independence Day."
