Master allegation leveller Subramanian Swamy is up at it again. This time the senior BJP leader has claimed that the Congress president Sonia Gandhi will go to jail in connection with the National Herald case.

"National Herald kay maamlay may Sonia Gandhi jail jayegi (Sonia Gandhi will go to jail in connection with National Herald case)," Subramanian Swamy told ANI.

The allegations levelled against Sonia Gandhi and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi are that as majority shareholders of Young India Ltd (YIL), they benefited from the acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd (AJL), the publisher of the now defunct National Herald newspaper.

After Swami registered a complaint alleging "cheating" in the acquisition of AJL by YIL- "a firm in which Sonia and Rahul Gandhi each own a 38-percent stake," the court issued summons to the Congress leaders on June 26, 2015.

Earlier in March, this year, Congress president Sonia Gandhi told the Delhi High Court that there was no "illegality" in the acquisition of AJL by YIL as per the Companies Act.

"BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has no locus standi in the case", added the Congress leader.
