India, Kyrgyzstan sign four agreements: MEA

Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan): India and Kyrgyzstan on Sunday inked four pacts, including in defence and culture, after talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev here.

The agreements followed Modi-Atambayev and delegation level talks at the Ala-Archa State Residence.

The agreement on defence cooperation seeks to "deepen cooperation in matters relating to defence, security, military education and training, conduct of joint military exercises, exchange of experience and information, exchange of military instructors and observers".

The second is a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding and Cooperation in the field of elections. The third is a MoU between Kyrgyzstan's economy ministry and the Bureau of Indian Standards on cooperation in the field of standards. The fourth agreement deals with culture.
