ILO launches gender sensitive labour inspection system in Pakistan

Islamabad: A gender sensitive labour inspection system has been launched in Pakistan by The International Labour Organization.This system has been launched to check the disparities faced by women across various job sectors.

Francesco d' Ovidio, ILO Country Director, said that the system will ensure equality and non-discrimination, Radio Pakistan reported.

This system will provide measurable indicators and and assist labour inspectors in gauging progress against gender-inclusive targets

The director added that it will also promote decent employment in the country.

A total of 12.51 million Pakistani females of various ages are in an employment of some sorts, according to Labour Force Statistics (LFS) of 2012-2013.
