New Delhi: In a statement that is bound to surprise all, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Islamabad was ready for an unconditional dialogue with India to resolve all unsorted issues. He said, Pakistan wants sustainable peace and so his country was ready to hold talks with India without any preconditions.

However, Nawaz Sharif expressed solidarity with the separatists groups of Kashmir. He even pledged to support them in their endeavors.

Nawaz Sharif made the sensational statement during a meeting with his British counterpart David Cameron on the sidelines of Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Valletta, Malta on Friday. He further mentioned that Pakistan aims at maintaining a friendly relation with its neighbouring countries including India and Afghanistan. Islamabad follows a policy of friendship towards all and malice towards none, Sharif added.

Mentioning that Pakistan is a victim of terrorism, Sharif condemned the recent attack on Paris. Pakistan is against all kinds of terrorism and militant manifestations, he said during the meeting.

David Cameron lauded Pakistan's efforts in the eradication of militancy and extremism.

Sharif mentioned that the UK-Pakistan bilateral ties were based on strong diasporic connections and said that the United Kingdom had always been a trusted ally of Pakistan.

Both the leaders agreed to work closely on various bilateral issues including trade, investment, culture, education and security.

David Cameron lauded Pakistan's initiative Operation Zarb-e-Azb for uprooting terrorism from Pakistani soil.

It might be mentioned that this was the third time that the two premiers met for dialogues in this current year.
