Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has sought Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's help in getting "working permission" from the army to complete various pending projects in Lucknow, an official said on Thursday.

In a letter to Parrikar, Yadav also expressed hope that the projects, including construction of roads and a flyover, would be completed at the earliest with the defence ministry's cooperation.

He pointed out that the state government has time and again been making requests to the defence ministry but to no avail.

In case prompt approval is given by the defence ministry, work on the road and bridge can be expedited and completed for the benefit of the people, Yadav said. (IANS)
