Om Puri to star in Pakistan cinema

Mumbai: Veteran actor Om Puri, a proponent of India-Pak cultural collaborations, has been signed to cast a role in a Pakistani cinematic venture, 'Na Maloom Afraad', directed and produced by Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meera.

A film titled 'Actor In Law', the second joint project of Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meera, is also set to be announced which will also star Om Puri, reported the media.

Many Pakistani characters have been previously executed by Om Puri, including George Khan in British dramedies 'East is East and West is West', President Zia-ul-Haq in 'Charlie Wilson's War'.

The renowned actor's debut Pakistani film is slated to be released on Eid Al Adha.

At a media event in Karachi, the actor said that he was impressed by Pakistani cinema.

"The Cameras are already set and Om Puri is a part of the cast. Filming has already started", said Fizza Ali Meerza, producer of 'Actor In Law'.(Inputs from agencies) (Picture Courtesy:zimbio.com)
