Ukraine-tested weapons: Taiwan is expected to receive several weapons that have been battle tested in Ukraine from the United States over the next few years.[VOA]

World Health Assembly:- The United States and several allies issued a joint statement Friday voicing support for Taiwan to take part in the World Health Organization’s World Health Assembly, which formally opens Monday in Geneva. [VOA]
Political memes:- A claim emerged in Chinese-language posts that Taiwan’s freedom of speech is in decline because the island’s ruling party is arresting citizens for creating a satirical political meme.[RFA]
Taiwanese film:- The Taiwanese gangster film, The Pig, The Snake and The Pigeon, has hit the bull in the eye with mainland Chinese moviegoers who saw the cult featured in the movie as an allusion to the Chinese Communist Party. [RFA]
Labor Minister's Remarks:- Taiwan's Foreign Ministry has issued "sincere apologies" following a remark by Taiwan's labor minister that has threatened to disrupt fast-warming ties between the island republic and India.[VOA]
Discriminatory Comment:- Following Taiwan’s entry ban on a former Chinese journalist who made a discriminatory comment against people with disabilities on a Taiwanese talk show[RFA]
New Taiwan Government:- Taiwanese voters handed Taiwan’s pro-sovereignty ruling Democratic Progressive Party.[VOA]
On Monday, despite warnings from Beijing, McCarthy’s office announced that the Speaker will “host a bipartisan meeting with the President of Taiwan at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library” in Simi Valley on Wednesday.
